Written by Murasaki Shikibu in the early eleventh century. Winning a rich literary prize for Japanese literature. This writer was also a Lady-in-waiting! That's right, the first novel in the world was written by a Women!
Twist! Who knew the first ever novel was written in Japan? I can't believe the first ever novel was written by a woman! That sure is encouraging to all the young female writers out there! 😉
